August 6 Day 36 Lake City MN. to Trempealeau WI.62miles 2246 Climbing

It's 5:30. In the morning and the pups and I are out for walk.  We walked along Lake Pepin and watched the colors change in the sky. I love this time of day.
Sam has everything our waiting for all of us to get ready to ride.
One last shots of Lake Pepin
Group Photo
Yea! We're in Wisconsin!
I have no idea the reason behind this pattern in the dirt. It looked like it was really hard to do.a
Cool marker for the Great River Road in Wisconsin.
These Lilly Pads went on and on.
No. 4 Lock on the Mississippi
Daily Barn.
The Golden Frog is a neat bar. We went in with Harold he found a beer that he could add to his list.
The Flopping' Crappie.  He has had at least 143 plus beers on this trip
Harold insisted that we have our photo taken between the restroom doors.
We are working our way to Trempealeau. Harold is our go to guy if you are not sure where you are going.  Watching him read a road map while riding is quite a skill.
Here is Harold and the fork in the road.
We haven't seen tree covered roads like this since Oregon. Mary and Chris have invited us to go see some long time friends of Mary's. This proves to be most interesting encounter.
John and Nance are two interesting souls who definitely enjoy their lives. They have 40 acres  they live   On. Their home is a log home they disassembled and rebuilt on their land. The log home is over 100 years.  We have to leave because of dinner reservations but we smiled all the way back to the hotel. When we get there ,Krista who use to work for Trek Bicycle was there.  I did not recognize her at first. When I heard her voice I knew instantly. It was fun to reminisce. We said our goodbyes and off to bed. Tomorrow we ride to Kendall about 65 miles away.a
