August 3 Day 34 Watertown MN. to Lakeville MN. 68 Miles 1479 climbing

Today we started our ride knowing there may be some changes along the way. As we rode out we passed this pond with pelicans hanging out on it.
This was our first change. Chris was running sag and checking the route. He had us going down this road. When we got there he was there to let us know it was a dead end gravel road.
So down the road we head. We are riding with Roger, Larry, Harold and Suzanne. All The bad things I said about the roads yesterday I have to take back. Today the shoulders are wide and smooth. It's Saturday and the traffic is much lighter as well
Great minds in a meeting. Chris stopped us again. Between him and Harold they came up with a plan.
25 to 10 to 30 A little farther down the road Chris stops us again. There is an issue with truck. Later we would learn that the dealership Sam took it to would not be able to take care of it till Monday. The good thing is they gave him a loaner Suburban to pull the trailer with. On with the show!
Your daily barn photo.
When we turned on to 10 we found ourselves on the route for a cycling event. Tour De Tonka.
Now this is Harold. He is from Milwaukee. He is a professor and long time cyclist. He goal on this trip is to not drink the same beer twice. However he can have 2 of the same beer at one sitting. His beers of choice are local micro brewery's. it was getting a little sparse for him, but now that we are in Minnesota the beer selections are getting better.
How do spend your summer Saturdays? These kids are down on the river fishing.
This is Ron Kane, his wife Lori and their daughter Stacy. Ron served in Viet Nam with Jim. He surprised us with a call last night. They had our schedule and knew we would be in Lakeville this evening. We made arrangements to get together with them. I had met them last year at a reunion for the Guys who served together in Viet Nam.  It was great to see them and have them meet our friends we are traveling with. We had an early dinner with them. We have a 100 miler tomorrow to Lake City. This will also be our rest day. Ron and Lori told us it would be a great place to spend a day off.
This is the loaner Suburban we will be using for a few days.
