August 24 Day 54 Syracuse (Fairmont) to Little Falls NY 93 Miles 1720 Climbing

In Whicita Falls Texas the Hotter N' He'll One Hundred is happening today. The ride started in 1982 and until now I have participated in every one. This year is different. Instead Jim and I are doing this ride across America. I miss not participating in the ride, however this is an awesome experience.  It has been suggested that when we are home we should go up and ride the route. Just cause. I'll see who would like to do that with us.

Today we rode out of town and it took us a little while.our very first turn did not have a street sign.
Oops!
We finally got out on the road and rode around this lake. There were wide trails along the lake. With it being Saturday there were lots of people out running, riding and just out enjoying this beautiful day.
Oh and this guy out fishing
Today became a day of riding and finding all kinds of promotions used by different businesses. This barn from the side looked to be a candidate for my barn of the day. Instead it became a billboard for a
Farm Market
This location I could not pass on. Bicycles, all used and polished up for sale.
What a great sculpture! There were all kinds a carved pieces around this little store.
We have seen all kinds of large plastic animals in New York. This is the most I've seen in one place.
This is Fort Stanwix. It was built by the British in 1758 to protect the area during the Early French Indian Wars, During the Revolutionary War the patriot leaders used it to defend the Mohawk Valley from the British.
Today we finally reached 3,000 miles and a week to go!
As we were riding into Little Falls this old bridge. It looked like the ancient Aqua Ducts in Europe.
This is the last of advertising at it's finest. A really Big Hot Dog!
Chris and his group made it in, so everyone was accounted for. Everyone got their rooms and settled in for the evening. Jim, Mike, Jean, Paul and I went to a small little Italian resturant . It was a nice little family business. Tomorrow we ride to Saratoga Springs. This is where we will have our last rest day. We are ready for one. This is the longest we have ridden, 11 days with some fairly high mileage.  We will be heading into more hills. This is the last week of our trip so a day off will be nice.
