August 1 Day 32 Ortonville MN to Wilmar MN. 80 miles 850 climbing

We changed hump day to Thursday because of the way our rest day is usually Monday. So Humphrey the camel is on the back of my bike. This is Ruthie who is front desk clerk extraordinaire for the Econolodge  we were in last night. She was so sweet and kind. This morning we took a group photo that would be in the town newspaper of Ortonville and had to have her in it.
That is Hump Pig on the back of Jim's bike. He only gets to ride one time because he represents the "Hump Month". We've been on the road for a month and we have one to go.
Here is your daily barn.
This was a beautiful farm. Went on for many miles.
The livestock has changed these building are full of turkeys. There were a total of six buildings.
One thing for sure I don't ever want to be a turkey or a chicken for that matter.
Hey, Jim this call is for you.
This was one of the rest stops Sam found for the day.
This lunch stop was great. In the town of Murdock, these trees lined the street from end of town to the other.
So Jim is having this issue with his hip and Suzanne is helping him with it. Hmmmm.
Hump Pig is ready to get on the road.
We haven't seen horses in a few days. Couldn't resist these.
We got to Wilmer it was to be only 71 miles. By the time we followed the GPS to the wrong address and got back on track Jim and I got 80 miles in. Wilmer is a thriving town with 2,000 people. They have their Walmart, Target, Home Depot and all kinds of chain Resturants. Tomorrow we ride to Hutchinson MN. About a 52 mile ride. The climbing is not so dramatic now. As Chris says we are going down to the Mississippi River.
