Rhonda and Jim's Travel Blog: Retread/5thwheel adventures Sunday Jan 11th

This morning we knew something was going on. We drove up and police cars were blocking all of the entrances to the race course. Above if you look closely you can see them. We had to park way out in another lot, it was awfully muddy as well. I did find a dime and a penny(heads up) in the lot.

As we are walking up we are finding out that they have canceled the race.

Above is Henry and Rob Sandusky. Today was their day to race. Everyone is waiting around to see what Is really happening.

Working our way to where all the vendors are, everyone is happy coffee is available. Del,Jim and Mike are charged up now.

This is the area where the food vendors are. Not only is it muddy it deep and thick.

We finally hear the races are cancelled for the day. Here is part of the course. To cyclocross

Racers and fans this is what it's all about. The officials with the city and park is concerned about

Damage to the area later we would find out it was damage to exposed roots of old oak trees.

Meetings were still happening when we left.

Back at the park we find out that they are going to have the races tomorrow (Monday) starting

At 12:00. It is a shame they cancelled today's events. Since this is nationals and people from all over the country are here. It will be interesting to see who will stay for tomorrow's events.

Mike and Judy are ready to pull out and head back to Houston. They are so much fun. We laugh a lot. Especially Judy and I.

We went into town to the Moonshine Resturant and met up with the Sandusky's and Barry and Theresa. The specialty of this resturant is their moonshine drinks. After dinner we went off to the party that TSA was having tonight. By the way that is Team Super Awesome!
