Retread/5th Wheel Adventures Jan.26 Mon. Jan.31 Sat.

Gerald above with Diggity and Mary Lynn with Doogie below.

We expected them to show up around 5 to 6 on Sunday.
They were so excited they got up really early and were on their way.
They showed up around 3:00. We are so excited to have them here.
We went to dinner at Pier 19 and made arrangements to go on a bay fishing trip
We made it an early evening because they were tired from their drive down.
And had to get ready for "Bay Fishing"

Monday morning we drove down the beach to check out the surf fishing which Gerald and Mary Lynn
Really enjoy as well. Then off to Port Isabel to hop on the boat to go fishing.

This was the door to the restroom on the boat in case you couldn't tell.

Going out into the bay we passed the KOA camp we are staying at. Above the second little blue top cottage is the one Gerald and Mary Lynn are staying in.
This is the U.S. Coast Gaurd Helicopter. They only fly when they are working.
Guess they are working!
Ok, we are on the Bay and here are Gerald and Mary Lynn are hard at work catching fish.
This Bay fishing Rocks!  This is J.J. holding my fish for me.
Taking a break. This fishing is a lot of work.
Captain Larry joined in on the fishing. Everybody on the boat were catching fish like crazy.
J.J. even caught a few!
Here's Mr. Jimmy "The Fisherman!" With the take for the day.
We went back to Pier 19 where Gerald really enjoyed filleting fish. All I know is I was really happy he liked doing that.
He filleted 40 fish. That was a good day of fishing.
The Pelicans are very patient. It was amazing to watch them. The gulls were also amazing.
They would throw fish stuff to the Pelicans and the gulls would swoop in and snag it.
Here it is Tuesday morning and we are off to Academy to get waders.
Then off to the beach for some Surf fishing. Are these guys cute or what. Jim immediately caught a fish. Unfortunately I didn't get a photo of it
Mary Lynn and I fished for the beach. Just as Gerald was about to give me my rod I looked in the water and a fish was just swimming by. Unfortunately he kept going and I didn't get him.
Each morning Doogie and I walk down to the beach. At this one entrance this bike is always there.
It's position changes every so slightly so I know that it has not been left
Walking the pups I noticed something moving on the ground, I looked closer and here was this tiny little crab he kept trying to run under my shoes. It was less than an inch wide.
The weather is changing and with the clouds coming in anyone can get some awesome photos if they happen to be there at the right time. Here are a few.

On our walk back Doogie and I came across this tiny little snail on the sidewalk.
This Friday morning finds us on the Jettys doing a little fishing. Yesterday we went out on a boat again. It was not as successful as the first trip. The Jettys proved not to be as exciting, we went back and drove over to Port Isabel and explored the area.
Back at the trailer we did lots of little chores then we went to "Senoir Donkey" for some TexMex
Dinning. Tomorrow we are up early to try some surf fishing again.
We were up early Saturday to try surf fishing again on the beach. We went to the beach access for
Vehicles. Then we drove farther up about six miles. With the weather changing the surf was way too high to try and fish. Gerald and Jim decided they wanted to try bay fishing again. These photos are on the beach at the north end of the island. It is amazing how many shells there are. It intrigues me that so
Many people walk the beach down by the Jettys which is near where we are staying. When there are so many so few miles away.

Bay fishing proved not to be all that exciting as well. Fortunately we made fun out of it
Mother Nature Puts on a great show all day long.
The group that we went with clean the fish on the way back in. The gulls and Pelicans follow the boat
Back in.
A photo of the cause way to Port Isabel.
Gerald and Mary Lynn have been here for a week. They will be leaving early Sunday morning.
We've had a blast with them. We had one last meal at Pier 19. We said our good nights and also our
Good byes knowing well that they would be up way before we would be to see them off in the morning.thanks for coming down Gerald and Mary Lynn, love you both...a bunch.
