Retread/5th wheel adventures Jan 16th Friday and Jan17th Sat.

Friday was the first time we saw sun all day we stayed busy getting everything out of the garage and getting ready to ride. Before we took the dogs down to the beach again. Not many photos today but we went to a little social in the "commons" a community center for the KOA. We met a cute couple from Canada, Ian and Joan. They were originally from England and grew up in a town across the river from Liverpool. The river is the River Mercy. Those old enough would have known the group
Gerry and the pacemakers, they sang about the Ferry crossing the Mercy. They have been coming down for 8 years. Before we went to get a bite to eat we walked the pups and got this awesome sunset. We invited ran into Ian and Joan and invited them to dinner it was a very pleasant evening.
Saturday! Not a cloud in the sky. Off we ride on the big tired bikes " Surley Fattys"
Lots of starfish are on the beach. The low tide brings in lots of stuff. One thing I noticed is there is not a lot of trash on the beach.
The big tires are fun to ride down the beach. The size of the tires create some interesting looks.
Fishing off the shore is popular here. Didn't see any women fishing so it is safe to say the guys looked cute in their waders.
Mr.Jimmy taking a break enjoying the waves on the shore.
Showing these girls a fish he had just caught was fun to watch. He had everyone's attention
including ours.
On the way back from riding the full length of the beach we stopped by this sea turtle hospital.
This is Mary. She only has one flipper. The hospital created this harness that has kind of a rutter on her back which allows her to swim on the surface. Without it she would sink. There is another turtle in the tank, her name is Alice. The lady says Alice isalways chewing on the buckle. I should have asked why they don't separate them so if Alice breaks the buckle Mary would sink.
We stopped by this bar Laguna Bob's for lunch. Now this is the way to have lunch.
This pelican was off the patio at Bob's. When we got back Jim stayed at the trailer with Diggity and I took Doogie for a good long walk down to the beach. About 5 miles later he was glad to chill out for a while. Jim and I went to the local cinema to watch Taken3. Nothing like a little bang bang shoot'em up.
The evening was perfect for grilling out and dining around the fire pit. Awwww, the 5th wheel life
At it's finest. A great busy day. It is amazing the difference the sunshine makes. We have a few more days of nice warm weather. Good night all stay warm.
