2015 Summer Vacation Road Trip Monday June 30

TX
JUNE 30th TUESDAY.
To get to Milwaukee we decided to take the SS Badger a huge ferry for vehicles including RV's.
It was pretty cool. One of the crew members backed the truck and trailer Like nothing was on the back.
The pups rode in the trailer I the trip to Manotowoc Wisconsin.
Jim had to finish paying for the trip. They charged by the foot for truck and trailer.

We met Brent on the ferry. Brent is a dairy farmer in Michigan near Saginaw.
At 35 he received his degree on animal nutrition and kind of fell into the dairy business.
In the area he lives he is the only American dairy farmer. The rest are either Dutch or Irish.
It was fascinating talking with him. While many of the farmers did not embrace technology, he did.
all of his cows have collars that will let them know who they are, their production, if they get sick. It was amazing as he showed us charts about an individual cow.
All the way across it was foggy. As we got closer shore the land magically appeared.

The lighthouse is at the entrance to the harbor.
Welcome to Manitowoc!
The men in orange are tying off the boat.on the other side of the fence is an Amish family
Some of the huge equipment to help run the harbor

a little history for you.

So we have gone from the plush RV Resort Park to the Milwaukee Fairgrounds.
There is a whole lot of concrete here.
We are all settled in. It's a cool evening. Should be a great sleeping night.
